The tree grilles at Sätra square have a simultaneously delicate and industrial expression. The pattern is created by bent flat steel, inspired by New York subway floor vents. The grilles serve both as protection for tree plantings and as a cover for speakers – part of a sound art installation. The large scale and elongated format give a sense of direction and the feeling that the trees are slowly gliding into the square from the surrounding nature.
